Power-to-Weight Ratio Calculator for cars

Power-to-Weight Ratio Calculator

Horsepower alone doesn’t tell you much about how fast a car actually feels.

On paper, a 450-hp muscle car that weighs 1,724 kg and a 152-hp Caterham that weighs 540 kg sound like different machines, but the lightweight one has a better power-to-weight ratio: around 282 hp per ton versus roughly 261 hp per ton.

Our calculator accepts hp, PS or kW alongside kilograms or pounds and converts everything for you. Enter your car’s output and weight to get the figure in every common unit.
